Is an Intensive Outpatient Program Right for My Child?
If you're concerned about your child's mental health or substance abuse issues, you may be wondering if they could benefit from an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Here are some signs that indicate your child may benefit from an IOP:

-
Persistent Symptoms
If your child is struggling with persistent symptoms of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, self esteem, or mood, an IOP can provide them with more intensive treatment and support compared to traditional therapy.
-
Risk of Harm
If you are concerned about your child f harming themselves or others due to mental health issues an IOP can offer a higher level of care and monitoring to ensure their safety.
-
Lack of Progress
If your child has been in traditional therapy, but hasn't shown significant progress or improvement, an IOP may be more effective in addressing their needs through a more structured and intensive treatment program.
-
Impaired Functioning
If your child's difficulties are impacting their daily functioning, such as their school performance, relationships, or overall well-being, an IOP can provide the necessary support and interventions to help them regain stability.
-
Family Support and Involvement
Our Intensive Outpatient Program not only focuses on the individual's treatment, but also emphasizes the importance of family support and involvement. Family therapy sessions and educational workshops can help improve communication, strengthen relationships, and provide a supportive environment for both the child and their family members. By involving the family in the treatment process, an IOP can help address underlying family dynamics and create a more cohesive support system for long-term recovery.
-
Need for Flexibility
If your child requires a more flexible treatment schedule that accommodates their school, work, or family commitments, an IOP offers a balance between intensive treatment and the flexibility to attend sessions outside of typical working hours.
If you're unsure whether an Adolescent IOP is the right fit for your child or teen, we recommend consulting with their current therapist or you can contact our office to schedule a free assessment to discuss your child's unique needs and recommend the most appropriate level of care.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program for Adolescents was developed with the passion of helping adolescents navigate life's difficulties and find confidence in who they are. A supportive group that utilizes the AIP Model in addition to providing clients with skills for understanding their emotions, their life experiences and beliefs about themselves and the world around them. Our Teen IOP Program Meets 3 X/ Week
Our IOP Program provides 3 hour groups that meet 3 times a week with a psychotherapist and peers working together at LK Institute Central office in Phoenix, AZ. Each group includes a verbal processing component that allows clients to understand their emotional experiences and connect with others to feel less alone in their journey. Participants learn more about themselves and skills directly applicable for them at improving their self-esteem, ability to manage difficult emotions and processing through trauma. Components of EMDR Psychotherapy are heavily utilized throughout the program including understanding the Window of Tolerance, identification of negative cognitions, Resource Development & Installation, and reduction of psychological distress. We work with the loved ones and family members to learn how to understand and support their teen as they move through the therapeutic work.
