TThis workshop covers the overwhelmingly popular topic of Narcissism. Though social media and current culture likes to label anyone who has caused personal pain a narcissist, we know that this is often overused and misunderstood. This training unpacks the truth about Narcissistic abuse and how to recover from such abuse. This training covers themes of damage and enduring internalizations that might result from narcissistic abuse. This workshop also features a breakout opportunity for clinicians to explore the impact of narcissism in their own world, particularly as it relates to client care. This training is designed for all clinicians and is not an EMDR focused workshop.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:

• Identify the typical pattern of engagement that occurs with narcissistic abuse

• Understand the Idealization/Shame cycle that can keep people in unhealthy narcissistic engagement 

•  Review steps and goals for healing from narcissistic abuse to utilize with clients including understanding the impact of the abuse, factors leading to vulnerability of the abuse and how to reclaim an accurate perception of the abuser/situation
