Our therapists are located in various office locations for those pursuing in person counseling. The expansion of Telehealth has greatly advanced our ability to provide care to clients living anywhere in the state of Arizona. There are many advantages to Telehealth, including convenience and accessibility to specialized Clinicians. All of our providers are available via Telehealth, or in their respective office locations as indicated below.


KALI KENAR, LPC-S, CEDS, EAC 

& CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Kali specializes in PTSD and dissociative disorders, sex therapy, and eating disorders. She is a Certified EMDR therapist and utilizes this approach to treat trauma, sexual/intimacy issues, and addictive behaviors. She assists in LK Institute EMDR Trainings and provides EMDR consultation to help therapists develop the necessary skills to successfully utilize trauma therapy.

Kali has experience working with complex issues, including trauma, substance use disorders and eating disorders, at inpatient, residential, PHP, and outpatient levels of care. Kali is also an approved Clinical Supervisor for the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as her Master of Counseling degrees through Arizona State University.

Kali completed a postgraduate sex therapy certificate at California Institute of Integral Studies and is pursuing AASECT certification. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink/BDSM & poly/non-monogamy informed, sex-worker allied, and body positive.

BLAKE BEAMS, LAC, EMDR THERAPIST

Blake specializes in trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief with children, teenagers, adolescents, and young adults. Blake utilizes a trauma-informed approach that encompasses her expressive arts background, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and somatic awareness to promote understanding of painful patterns and develop coping strategies. 

Blake believes that each client has an innate ability inside to cultivate healing and she is an advocate for guiding clients on this individual journey. Blake believes in using EMDR to further process core life events that underline issues with depression and anxiety that can lead to self-harm, eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidality, and difficult relationship patterns.

Blake has worked in a variety of settings including, agencies advocating for families struggling with the effects of trauma, IOP groups specifically for Eating Disorders and OCD, and facilitating grief support groups.

 Blake has her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology and her Master of Counseling Degree from Arizona State University. Blake's goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to be themselves and develop skills that work for them to promote healing.

STEPHANIE SC​HAFFNER, LPC, EMDR THERAPIST

Stephanie specializes in trauma, suicidality, self-harm, depression, anxiety, and grief with teens and adults. She utilizes trauma-informed approaches, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), along with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapy (SFT) in order to bring awareness, acceptance and healing to those processing significant past and current events. She focuses on how trauma is stored within the brain and body to work on reteaching them safety, while being kind to ourselves as we turn towards acceptance and growth.

Stephanie has worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including mobile crisis, intensive outpatient programs, individual therapy and partial hospitalization programs. She is continuing to further her own knowledge in trauma and healing, knowing that there is no one approach for everyone. Stephanie earned an M.S. in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in trauma from Grand Canyon University, and is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Psychology. Open-mindedness is one of her top values, so all are welcome without judgement. She firmly believes we all have a right to be heard and experience healing.

ANN CAPULIN-THAYER, LPC-S

Trauma Therapist Counselor Flagstaff EMDR Anxiety Help

Ann works with individuals suffering with anxiety, depression, addiction, traumatic experiences, relationship struggles and difficult life transitions. Ann values truly listening to clients and helping them feel understood. She helps clients understand their past, their desired future, and explores what is/is not working in the present, while considering the client’s personal, relational, and cultural influences. Because Ann believes in addressing the root or source of clients’ struggles, she utilizes EMDR Therapy in conjunction with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches as is fitting.

Ann completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University where she graduated with honors of Summa Cum Laude. She works primarily with adults, and has worked with groups in outpatient settings, along with court-mandated clients recovering from substance abuse. Ann has active membership with the American Counseling Association and is licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Ann additionally is a board-approved clinical supervisor and oversees LK Institute’s internship program.

ASHLEY PARK, CLINICAL INTERN

If you're anxious or unsure of what the future holds, beginning therapy can feel like taking a leap of faith. It is Ashley's goal to be a fellow traveler with you on your path to healing. Ashley helps individuals, couples, and families experience healing from relationship conflict, stress, anxiety, and trauma. She is also passionate about working with adolescents and their families to find eating disorder recovery. 

Ashley is transparent, empathetic, and encouraging in her style of therapy. She honors the vulnerability and courage it takes for clients to enter the therapy room and begin their new journey.

Ashley holds a B.S. in Child and Family Development and a B.A. in Sociology from San Diego State University. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Evangelical Seminary and an M.A. in Bible and Theology at Calvin Seminary. Ashley is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy level 1 and in Prepare Enrich.

ROBERT WILLIAMS, CLINICAL INTERN

Robert has over 14 years providing care in the mental health field. Robert began his career in 2008 working in wilderness therapy with at-risk teens, managing and facilitating treatment goals designed to address addictive, depressive and oppositional behavioral issues. In 2018 Robert moved to Asheville, NC to be a case manager and the logistical coordinator of a complex trauma recovery center that focused on working with women and trans folks. Robert has a B.A. in Religious studies and world history and will be graduating summer of 2022 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Robert enjoys working with Couples, adults and adolescents. He is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy level 1. When not working he can be found riding his bike or gardening in the backyard with his chickens.

KARI HALL, LPC, EMDR THERAPIST 

Kari specializes in working with adolescents, teenagers and young adults struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. Her experience has equipped her to help those having a difficult time coping with life and may be finding themselves in self-destructive or painful patterns. Utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, she works with clients to develop practical and tangible steps to tolerate painful emotions and difficult relationship issues. She also believes in using EMDR Psychotherapy to reprocess and resolve negative core beliefs that can lay the foundation for low self-esteem, anxiety and depression.

Kari works to provide a safe, empathic, and non-judgmental environment for teens and adults who are wanting to work through the root issues and core events that lead to challenges such as panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal ideation, grief, substance use, eating disorders and relational difficulties.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Malone University, and graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling. She has experience treating eating disorders and related issues at the IOP and outpatient level of care and is comfortable working with families trying to navigate such difficulties.

Kari Hall Trauma Counselor Therapist Flagstaff Adolescent Teen Phoenix

Bria aims to provide a warm and honest sounding board for you to process your fears, anxieties, and self-doubts on your journey to healing. Bria works with individuals, couples, and families to process through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. She is passionate about working with postpartum mothers and couples learning to transition to parenthood.

 Bria has over six years of experience working in community health organizations serving families at risk, pregnant mothers, and new parents by providing them with education and support. 

Bria is currently in her internship working towards her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from NAU. Bria is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy level 1, has experience working with women suffering from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and is a DONA trained doula.

BRIANA "BRIA" SHERINIAN, CLINICAL INTERN

Mackenzie specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults struggling with PSTD, anxiety, depression, codependency, eating disorders, and substance abuse. She also enjoys working with the families and loved ones of those struggling. She primarily uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy), inner child-work, and Post Induction Therapy (PIT) to guide clients through their own healing and recovery. Mackenzie is passionate about holding space for her clients to share and process their life stories with the goal of discovering the root issues that are creating current issues and dysfunction.

She graduated with her BS in Psychological Sciences from Northern Arizona University and her MS in Professional Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University. Mackenzie has experience treating trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, personality and mood disorders, and related issues at inpatient, residential, and PHP levels of care.

LAUREN KISER, PhD, LPC-S, CEDS-S, EAC

OWNER & CEO

 Lauren specializes in the treatment of trauma, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. She has many years experience treating complex issues in the inpatient, residential, PHP & outpatient level of care. Lauren is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor, a Certified EMDR Therapist, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an Adult Complex Trauma & Dissociation Specialist. She utilizes EMDR therapy to treat trauma, anxiety disorders, addictive behaviors and other life issues interfering with one's well being.

Lauren obtained a BA in Psychology at Texas Tech University where she was the lead research assistant in a Correctional Research Lab. Lauren obtained her MS from Lubbock Christian University and received the second highest score on the national comprehensive exam.

She developed an eating disorder program for those suffering with co-occurring substance use disorders.

She has held the role of Clinical Director at treatment facilities (Inpatient, Residential, PHP, and IOP) and completed her doctorate degree focusing on addictive disorders and therapist's competency to treat eating disorders. Many therapists call on her for advanced trauma trainings and consultation for her various specialities.
